Tetra Pak needed a design trend report to help internal teams communicate how packaging design can shape and elevate new product ideas during client conversations.
This led to a 90-page APAC Packaging Visual Design Trends Report for 2025–2026. My role focused on researching and defining key packaging visual trends across the region, drawing insights from global design reports and packaging platforms.
The research was distilled into an actionable trend framework, breaking down key visual cues, brand connection opportunities, and differentiation potential. This helped internal teams and clients better understand how each trend could be applied to future product development.
As the report was intended for internal use, we were to follow Tetra Pak’s brand guidelines closely while ensuring the design remained engaging and inspiring. Working within these constraints, we found ways to create a visually rich experience while staying true to Tetra Pak’s identity. Here’s how.

Tetra Pak's brand colours
The fixed colour palette became a design advantage rather than a restriction. By re-combining simple, fresh brand colours, it creates a report that feels structured, engaging and distinctly Tetra Pak.
Tetra Pak's clean and structured layouts
Tetra Pak’s communications are known for their clean and modern look. In this report, we used brand-coloured block shapes to create visual interest while guiding the narrative across each page.

Tetra Pak's packaging as visual motif
Tetra Pak packaging forms were simplified into thin outline graphics and used as a recurring motif throughout the report to add visual interest.
Narrowing Down to 8 Design Trends
Drawing from global design reports such as Adobe Design Trends and Vistaprint, alongside packaging platforms like The Dieline, I analysed patterns across colour, typography, illustration and structural design within and beyond the APAC region.

Each design trend was carefully broken down into a structured, visually led section to make the report intuitive and enjoyable to browse, while guiding readers from inspiration to application.

How each design trend are broken down

Title Page Moodboard
Every trend opens with a uniquely designed title page and moodboard that visually captures the essence, tone and key characteristics of the trend. It includes a short description of what the design trend is about.

Brand Connection Opportunities
This is followed by a curated selection of product examples showcasing the trend in use. Each trend is paired with insights on how it can strengthen brand connection, align with consumer mindsets, and engage audiences both emotionally and strategically.

Market Differentiation Potential
Finally, we explore how products adopting these design features can stand out in the market, examining their impact across different consumer journey touchpoints and the visual identity opportunities they create.

Trendipedia is Tetra Pak’s annual consumer trends report, capturing how global shifts and consumer behaviour impact the industry. It guides Tetra Pak’s portfolio development and helps producers prioritise innovation.
This year, six Trendipedia trends were identified:

Key Consumer Trends at a Glance
As the Trendipedia report is extensive, each consumer trend was distilled into a concise summary.

Introducing real-world product examples connect the design trends and Trendipedia, helping readers understand how the insights translate into practice. Here’s how each product was analysed:
To conclude the project, the report was presented in a live APAC-wide webinar to over 160 industry professionals, serving as a strategic reference for future planning and client conversations.
